Federal OSHA: Form 300A Posting Starts February 1. Electronic Submission Due March 2.

If your business is covered by OSHA injury and illness recordkeeping rules, there are two compliance actions to calendar every year:

    • Post OSHA Form 300A from February 1 through April 30
    • Electronically submit required data through OSHA’s Injury Tracking Application (ITA) by March 2 (for 2025 data, due March 2, 2026)

Even if you had zero recordable incidents, posting can stillbe required.

OSHA Form 300A Posting Requirements

Posting Window: February 1 Through April 30

Covered employers must post OSHA Form 300A (Annual Summary)in each establishment in a conspicuous place where employee notices arecustomarily posted. The summary must be posted no later than February 1 andremain posted through April 30.

Executive Certification Is Required

Before posting, Form 300A must be certified by a companyexecutive (signed) to confirm the accuracy of the summary.

Posting May Still Be Required With No Injuries

If you are covered by OSHA recordkeeping, you still completeand post the annual summary even if there were no recordable cases during theyear.

Are You Covered, or Partially Exempt?

Size-Based Partial Exemption

If your company had 10 or fewer employees at all timesduring the prior calendar year, you are generally partially exempt fromroutinely keeping OSHA injury and illness records (unless OSHA or the Bureau ofLabor Statistics informs you in writing that you must keep records).

Industry-Based Partial Exemption

Some establishments are partially exempt because OSHAclassifies their industry as low hazard (based on NAICS codes).

Important: “Partially exempt” does not mean “no OSHAreporting obligations at all.” Serious incident reporting requirements canstill apply.

Electronic Submission Through OSHA’s ITA: Due March 2

March 2, 2026 Deadline for 2025 Data

OSHA’s ITA requires covered establishments to submitrequired data by March 2 of the year following the covered year. For calendaryear 2025, that deadline is March 2, 2026.

Establishment Size Matters (Not Total Company Headcount)

Electronic reporting obligations are generally determined atthe establishment level (a single physical location), not your total companyworkforce. OSHA’s ITA coverage tool is the best way to confirm your obligationfor each location.

Use the ITA Coverage Application:

Who Must Electronically Submit Form 300A

OSHA’s electronic reporting rules generally apply toestablishments that are required to keep records and meet certain size andindustry criteria. OSHA provides the definitive determination through itscoverage application and guidance.

Additional Electronic Submission for Some High-HazardEstablishments (Forms 300 and 301)

Certain establishments in designated industries must submitcase-specific information from:

    • OSHA Form 300 (Log)
    • OSHA Form 301 (Incident Report)

This requirement applies to establishments with a peakemployment of 100 or more employees in designated industries, as defined byOSHA.
