Employee Handbooks & Required Benefits Documentation Webinar

An employee handbook is the rock that a company’s human resources foundation is built on. Yet, this critical document is often viewed as simply something to check off the box as being distributed when an employee is hired. In this webinar, we will look at it more critically by changing the lens through which it is viewed. If you are audited by a federal or state agency, what are a company’s handbook’s potential vulnerabilities? When does the handbook become “exhibit one” in employee litigation? Conversely, we will discuss the tactics that can make the handbook an asset to your organization in these scenarios. We will discuss what should be (and should not be) in your handbook. We will also discuss items that might be important to specific businesses. Similarly, while most employers have at least a skeletal handbook, many do not realize that there are required documents that go along with offering various benefit plans. We will discuss these documents and compliance with applicable ERISA and COBRA regulations.
