Our company did not personally review I-9 documents during the COVID emergency – what do we do now?
Employers are required to personally inspect I-9 documentation. However, during COVID employers were temporarily allowed to remotely inspect required I-9 documentation. If employers remotely inspected documents during this time period, they now have until August 31, 2023 to inspect the original documentation.
